If you wanted to send in a paper tax return, you've missed the 31 October deadline, so send it online instead.
If you send a paper tax return after the deadline, you'll have to pay a penalty. The penalty is £100. You'll still have to pay this even if

• your return is just a day late
• you have no tax to pay
• you pay all the tax you owe before 31 January 2013

Make sure you don’t leave it too late to send your online tax return. You need to allow enough time to register for HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) Online Services first.
